This Privacy Policy describes how Clappy ("we", "us", or "our"), operated by Zeemato Technologies, collects, uses, and shares your personal information when you use our mobile application ("App") and associated services.
1. Information We Collect
To provide a high-quality social experience, we collect the following categories of information:
Account & Profile Data
- Account Information: Name, email address, password (encrypted/hashed), and date of birth.
- Profile Data: Gender, bio, interests, and profile pictures. Profile data is visible to other users to facilitate matching.
- Location Data: Approximate or precise location (city/coordinates) used to show nearby users for discovery. Location is accessed only while the App is in the foreground and only when you initiate discovery. We do not use background location or geofencing. You can disable location access at any time in your device settings.
Communication Data
- Messages: Direct messages between users, including text and media attachments, stored securely to provide chat history.
- Audio/Video Calls: Audio and video streams during real-time calls are transmitted through ZegoCloud's encrypted infrastructure and are not stored permanently on our servers.
Device & Technical Data
- Device Identifiers: Device type, operating system version, and unique device identifiers collected by Firebase Analytics for analytics and crash diagnosis.
- App Usage Data: In-app actions and feature usage patterns collected via Firebase Analytics to improve the App experience.
- Crash Reports: Automatic crash logs and diagnostic data collected via Firebase Crashlytics to identify and fix technical issues.
- Push Notification Tokens: Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) tokens used to deliver push notifications about matches, messages, and activity. These tokens are stored on our servers and refreshed periodically.
Purchase & Financial Data
- In-App Purchases: When you purchase Clappy Coins or premium features via Google Play, we receive a purchase receipt and transaction ID from Google to validate your purchase. We do not store your payment card details — all payment processing is handled by Google Play.
- Coin Balance & Transaction History: Your Clappy Coin balance and purchase history are stored on our servers to maintain your account wallet.
2. Permissions and Device Access
Our App requests the following permissions to function correctly:
- Camera: Required for video calls and uploading profile photos.
- Microphone: Required for audio during video and audio calls.
- Location (Foreground Only): Used to show nearby users for matching during the discovery session. We request ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION. Background location is never requested or used.
- Storage/Photos: Required to select and upload media files such as profile pictures and chat media.
- Notifications: Required to send push notifications about matches, messages, and account activity.
All permissions are requested at the time they are needed and can be revoked at any time through your device settings.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To provide matching and discovery features based on location and preferences
- To deliver real-time chat, audio, and video call functionality
- To process in-app purchases and maintain your Coin wallet
- To send push notifications relevant to your activity
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and policy violations
- To analyze and improve App performance using aggregated analytics
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Real-Time Communication (ZegoCloud)
Clappy utilizes ZegoCloud's infrastructure for real-time audio and video interaction. During a call, your audio/video stream is transmitted through ZegoCloud's secure TLS-encrypted channels. 5. Third-Party Services
We use the following trusted third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:
- Google Play Services / Google Play Billing: For app distribution and in-app purchase processing.
- Firebase Analytics: For anonymous usage analytics and app performance monitoring (Google LLC).
- Firebase Crashlytics: For crash reporting and diagnostic data (Google LLC).
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): For delivering push notifications (Google LLC).
- Firebase Authentication: For secure user session management (Google LLC).
- ZegoCloud: For real-time audio/video communication infrastructure.
- Cloudinary: For secure media (image/video) hosting and delivery.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. You can request account deletion at any time through Profile > Settings > Delete Account in the App, or by emailing support@zeemato.com.
Upon confirmed deletion:
- Your account is deactivated immediately
- Your profile, photos, messages, match history, and Coin balance are permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days
- Encrypted backup copies may persist for up to 90 days before being fully overwritten — this data remains inaccessible during that period
- Some transactional or legal compliance data may be retained longer as required by law
7. Children's Privacy and Minor Protection
Clappy is strictly for individuals aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. Age is verified during registration, and users representing a false age will have their accounts terminated.
If we become aware that a minor has provided us with personal information, we will immediately:
- Remove the account and all associated data
- Review any reported content involving the minor
- Where applicable, report incidents involving child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or child exploitation to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) CyberTipline and cooperate with relevant law enforcement authorities
To report a suspected minor on the platform, please use the in-app report feature or email support@zeemato.com immediately.
8. User Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify: Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase: Request deletion of your personal data
- Restrict: Limit how we process your data
- Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Object: Object to processing based on our legitimate interests

9. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including TLS encryption for data in transit, encrypted storage for sensitive data at rest, access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel, and regular security audits.
While we take all reasonable precautions, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via a push notification or prominent notice in the App. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
